This is a music album that changes in appearance and in content over time.
For my masters project, I buried the copper album covers in different locations and left them underground for several months. Depending on the properties of the soil the cover would oxidize in a unique way. I created an algorithm that would assemble a variety of musical samples by interpreting the oxidation levels in different areas of the cover and thusly create a unique 20min piece of music for each object. The more oxidized they become, the more melancholic the music gets.
